When we see a work of art that someone has put time and care into, it “warms the heart”. If this is also made for public display, with no desire for money, the feeling of a ‘gift’ to the community may be even greater.

You may have noticed the 'Worthwhile Words' adorning some of the school fences. Words like "Hope" and "Joy" (shaped in finger knitting and attached to backing cloth) are part of a project to inspire people in schools, nursing homes and the like. Robyn McCorkelle has been involved in this project for some time and has organised for RPS to join in as well. Wonderful work is already underway. Mary-Lynn Griffith Research Primary School |
Hi Wendy, Thank you so much for considering our kindergarten as a recipient of your Worthwhile Words. We are so excited to provide children and family members with any opportunity to consolidate positive feelings about who they are and what they can do. Placing the words on the fence also allows the community to consider what these words might mean not only for the kinder children but for each member of the community that passes our way.
We wish you all the best in your venture to create optimism in our society.
Regards,

On behalf of the committee of the Contact Community Centre, I would like to thank you for showing our Embroidery Class how to make the banners, or rather the words to go on the banners, which emphasise the positive aspects of various places and people.
We appreciate the time and effort you have given to the Centre in prompting this new 'art form'.
With every best wish to you and your group.
